No dues for you = bad news for all
An absolute misnomer, a "Right-to-Work" statute permits employees to opt out of paying dues in a unionized workplace.
New York is among the most unionized states, and we can keep it so, even in light of the Supreme Court's ruling which bans mandatory union fees.
By signing our re-commitment card, we:
Express the collective power of voice in advocating for our rights, benefits and working conditions.
Recognize that class solidarity means we stand with one another.
Understand the importance of maintaining cooperation and accountability between us and the district.

About VOTE-COPE
Corporate lobbying interests outspend us significantly. Deep pockets vs. everyday values is the conflict at hand, implicating many of the important foundations which keep us and our profession stable.
VOTE-COPE is NYSUT's action fund that coordinates the voluntary contributions of members and supports NYSUT-endorsed candidates and campaign committees that are pro-public education and pro-labor.
